The objectives were to: review the published literature on child health in complex emergencies, including burden of disease; identify the major organizations providing care to children in complex emergencies and review existing clinical guidelines; identify major gaps in the guidelines used by NGOs to provide health care to children in complex emergencies; and make recommendations to overcome these gaps.
