In response to the growing need of health staff to address dengue prevention and control, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Latin America and Caribbean requested a document that describes current thinking and practices for the prevention and control of dengue fever. The conceptual framework for the document is that of comprehensive, integrated dengue prevention and control. The docuemtn adapts the 10 key elements for a comprehensive, integrated dengue program that PAHO enumerated in the "Decalogue" (2001), which comprise all aspects of comprehensive prevention and control.
