The goal of the training course is to improve the capacity of district level health workers for preparedness and response to epidemic diarrhoeal diseases. At the end of the course district health workers will have the necessary technical skills to prepare for, detect, respond appropriately to, and control epidemics of diarrhoeal disease. The course includes two modules: 1) a module on case management of diarrhoeal diseases, including cholera and dysentery, including correct case management for patients with these diseases; and 2) a module with three chapters covering preparedness and detection, appropriate response, and control.
