This WHO training module may serve as a practical guide to planning and replanning a malaria control programme in any given situation. It is designed for health professionals and health care planners at a national level who are responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and replanning national control programmes in endemic countries. It is also useful for international partners faced with the challenge of assisting countries to establish or re-establish control programmes. Although this module centers around malaria, many of the principles of planning can be applied for the control of other parasitic diseases, especially vector-borne parasitic diseases. The module consists of two parts: the Learner's guide; and the Tutor's guide.
