Criteria related to exposure to multiple contaminants does not usually take into account possible interactions and, therefore, possible changes in their toxicity. In phase two of this project, researchers will explain the potential interactions of substances used in the workplace that are already controlled and documented. They will then propose a method for calculating the response of the human body, to determine whether or not the adjusted mean exposure value of the combination of these substances has been exceeded, and develop a questionnnaire regarding possible interactions. Using the information from this database, it will be possible to make qualitative judgements, for each known situation, on the nature of contaminant interaction and on the health effects of the contaminants. Integrated into the CSST's Toxicological Index, this data will be useful to occupational health and safety stakeholders and can also be disseminated on the Internet.
