<text>Workers in various industries are exposed to strong low-frequency electromagnetic fields. Health specialists are increasingly concerned by this type of exposure, and several scientific studies have examined its link to some forms of cancer. The precision of electromagnetic field measurement devices should be reexamined. This project will develop and field-test a direct-reading monitor capable of measuring electromagnetic fields in three dimensions. The monitor will not only offer more features than existing models, but will also be easier to use. Commercialization of the monitor will provide health and safety specialists with a portable and self-contained tool which is easy to use and yields clear and precise measurements of worker exposure. This information will facilitate the development of exposure profiles and the application of preventive and corrective measures.</text>
