This case study provides an example of an exposure history form, as well as topics to be included and questions to inquire about when taking an exposure history. This case study provides direct biologic indicators of a child’s environmental health, environmental diagnosis, the exposure-disease model, sources of exposures, and interventions. Upon completion of this case study the participant should be able to describe how and why children differ from adults in their susceptibility to environmental hazards, apply the knowledge of environmental medicine in the evaluation of well and sick children, identify parental occupation and hobbies as a part of the environmental history, and identify additional sources of environmental health information.
